Barnsley School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS)

Our team is responsible for the delivery of routine school age immunisation programmes.
People with physical and/or learning disabilities are known to have low uptake or are at risk of low uptake of vaccinations (NICE 2022).
The team therefore offers a flexible approach to vaccination to best meet the needs of the child/young person and family.

We provide a catch-up immunisation programme to children from 3 year 10 months who are not up to date with their routine childhood vaccinations via their GP surgery.

Vaccinations are predominantly offered in each school with clinics held at local community venues across the borough.
