Feeding your baby

If you’re expecting a baby or have just become a parent, you may have questions you’d like to ask about feeding your baby. In Barnsley we want to support mums to breastfeed their babies anytime, anywhere. Watch our video featuring local mums and their babies talking about their experiences, click here to see which venues are members of the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Scheme.

Feeding out and about:

Here in Barnsley we have our own Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme. The aim of this scheme is to support, promote and protect breastfeeding. We want all parents to feed whilst out and about in the community. Lots of local business’ across Barnsley have joined the scheme to play their part in encouraging and empowering parents to breastfeed their children anytime, anywhere. Click HERE to see the venues that are part of the Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme.

Libraries across the borough have recently showcased their new breastfeeding chairs. The chairs have so far received lots of wonderful feedback from families out and about in the community. The libraries that currently have the chairs available for use include the Lightbox, Dodworth, Roundhouse and Worsbrough. Whether you are feeding and reading, or just relaxing and people watching, they are the perfect addition. Be sure to take a look and test them out!
