The Dad Pad

Becoming a new dad is an exciting chapter, but we know many dads can feel overwhelmed, and unsure- that’s where Dad Pad can help. Developed with the NHS, Dad Pad is an online app that provides new dads, and dads to be with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support themselves, and their partner, so that babies get the best possible start in life.

The app will allow dads to access:

  • Information and guidance that covers a range of topics from crying, feeding, sleeping, safety etc.
  • Details of local support groups for both dads and partners,
  • Information about local services available to support you.
To download the app, simply search for ‘Dad Pad’ in your app store and use your Barnsley postcode to access the app for FREE. More information can be found on the Dad Pad website here.

Dads Matters Barnsley

Dads Matters Barnsley is a new programme, helping dads to have the best possible relationship with their families.

Our local dads coordinator can help engage dads with services that have traditionally been targeted and mums, and work directly with these services to increase engagement and knowledge.
The programme works to make sure dads know how important they are, how to support their own anxiety, stress and mental health, and supports dads to learn about their own baby’s development.
Dads matter to mum, to the baby, to everyone.

We offer:
  • Outreach services, and drop in’s at Barnsley Hospital and Family Hubs,
  • 1:1 support for anyone that needs it (this is a great way of getting things off your chest and guides you in the right direction).
  • Signposting to other local services and information to help make sense of being a dad.
  • You can make a referral and access more information on our website here or Facebook page here.
