This service focuses on diet and lifestyle changes. It will help you to increase your physical activity levels and change behaviours that may be harming your health. This service helps adults, children from 4 years old and pregnant women. You could be eligible for tier 3 weight management if:
Age 16 and above:
- If your BMI is over 35 and you have 2 related health issues or more, or
- If your BMI is over 40 without other health problems or
- If you're 18 or older and meet the national criteria for weight loss surgery
- If you have no uncontrolled health or psychological problems related to obesity.
- Special help is available for pregnant women with a BMI over 30
Age 4 to 15 years:
- If their BMI is really high for their height and age, over 98th centile
- If their BMI is high and they have other health issues, related to their weight
- If they don't have diabetes or an eating disorder.
Speak to your GP, health visitor, school nurse, midwife or other health professionals about a referral
