Build and develop your confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills. Explore you beliefs and attitudes and be creative. Gain independence and put these skills into practice at camps and even on international trips.
With the support, direction and guidance of Unit leaders, you’ll be encouraged to lead yourselves, design your own programme and work towards the top awards that Scouting offers. With exciting prospects like being a part of camps and expeditions both home and abroad; adventurous activities such as mountaineering, parascending and off shore sailing; Explorers offers fun and adventure for all.
Brownies welcomes all girls from 7 to 10 years old for nonstop fun, learning and adventure.

Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can have fun, learn and be yourself with good friends from 10 to 14 years old.
Rangers is your space – where you get together with other girls from 14 to 18 to have fun, learn more, give back, hang out, and just be you.

At Sea Cadets Barnsley we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, we learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.

South Yorkshire Army Cadets
NHS Cadets is a youth volunteering programme established by NHS England. It is delivered by St John Ambulance, working in partnership with local NHS trusts and healthcare providers across the country. As an NHS Cadet, young people learn about life in healthcare from inspiring professional speakers. They develop key skills, boost their self-confidence, and get to explore careers in the healthcare sector through volunteering experiences.
