A great family day out in the Pennine hills with hundreds of animals, and adventure playgrounds. Open 10am-6pm every day except Christmas day and Boxing day the farm offers a range of fun experiences, cafes a farm shop and regular events.

With a visitors centre, cafes, shops and even an on site Beer Tap, Elsecar Heritage Centre offers a great family day out. The Centre is open all year round Monday - Sunday, 10am - 4pm. (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.)  Free onsite parking available.

Newmillerdam Country Park is a large woodland 3.5 miles south of Wakefield on the A61 (Barnsley Road). It has a central lake surrounded by a path, and there's an old railway line called the Chevet branch line linking to the wider countryside.

Pot House Hamlet has lots to offer; have coffee, a snack or a meal at The Potting Shed Café. Wander around the plant nursery, the stylish womenswear shop and the dog grooming boutique. Pop into the fabulous smelling candle shop, get your eyes tested at Berry’s Opticians. Childs play at The Den. Have a treatment in the old mill and discover beautiful hand made jewellery in The Round Tower. Visit our petting farm for free, get up close to feed and stroke them, they are very friendly. Our site is dog friendly too, so don’t forget to bring man’s best friend and get them a treat from the dog boutique.

At Walking the Goats at Lower Coates you will meet the most friendly and cheeky animals, .Whether you are joining us for Goat walking, Alpaca trekking, meeting all the gang, a birthday party, one of our school holiday events or preschool classes you will make memories that last a lifetime.

The Country Park is open 7 days a week, all year round. The Mill is currently open Thursday - Sunday, 10am - 3pm. There is also a shop and cafe on site as well as a children's play area.
