What is a Family Centre?
Family Centres in Barnsley are a great place to meet other families, join in with family friendly activities and much more.

They offer support to families with children aged 0-19 (up to 25 for children with SEND) and work with families to:
  • Support children to be ready for school and thrive in school
  • Develop parenting skills
  • Develop healthy lifestyles
  • Keep children safe
  • Access training and return to work

Did you know? Over 90% of parents think a parenting course would be useful.

Our FREE Online courses help you through every stage of being a parent, give tips, information, and reassurance you are doing a great job. 

Each course is made up of small modules which you can work through at your own speed. The average time for each module is 20mins

There are interactive activities, quizzes, video clips and practical handouts, with voice overs too.

We always encourage families to complete our online parenting programme first as most of the areas we talk through in the face to face courses are covered in the online courses.

Building stronger relationships

Arguments with our partner or ex-partner can be normal but if they are getting in the way of family life, use the ‘Stronger Relationships’ information to get a helping hand.

Childcare in our Family Centres
Ofsted Registered childcare is available for families in receipt of free childcare for eligible 2 year olds and funded 3 and 4 year olds.

Childcare is provided at 6 Family Centres.

Childcare in our Family Centres is available term time only

Rose vouchers

Rose Vouchers help families on low incomes to buy fresh fruit and vegetables to give their children the healthiest possible start.

You could get £3 of Rose Vouchers for each child, every week, or £6 if the child is under one years old, click the dark blue box below to see :
