Young People’s Substance Misuse Service
Who is it for
Young people aged between 10 – 18 who may be using drugs and alcohol

What do they do?
An allocated worker will encourage you to be honest with yourself and give you a confidential space to talk about your issues with drugs and or alcohol. They can also put you in touch with other services who are able to help you. You can work together with them, as well as your family (with your consent) to help you to achieve your goals.

What is it?
Drinkline is a national alcohol helpline providing confidential counselling, support, advice and information.
How do I get in touch? 
Telephone: 0300 123 1110 The free helpline is available on weekdays from 9am – 8pm and on weekends from 11am – 4pm.

Recovery Steps
Who is it for?
Recovery steps supports adults and older teens (18+) in Barnsley who are using drugs or alcohol.

What do they do?
They offer:
  • 1-2-1 support.
  • Group therapy.
  • Support to family members
  • A health and well-being check, health screenings, blood testing and vaccinations.
  • Support to reduce harm and prevent overdose.
  • Substitute medication is available for some drugs that you may use
  • Detox from alcohol and/or drugs.
  • A peer mentor/volunteer to give you additional support
